Born in Aomori City in 1976, she made her debut as a manga writer in 2002 in a special issue of Big Comic Spirits, going on to script series such as Ai no Kekkon Soudansho (Shogakukan) and Bakarei Dogs (Kodansha).
In 2012, she made her debut as a novelist with S no Tame no Oboegaki: Kagome-sou Renzoku Satsujin Jiken (Memorandum for S: The Kagome Manor Serial Murders, Takarajimasha), an entry for the Kono Mystery ga Sugoi! Grand Prix. In 2019, her short story collection Otto no Hone (Husband’s Bones, Shodensha) garnered widespread attention, and in 2020, she won the Mystery Writers of Japan Award for Best Short Story for the titular piece.
