Kamata Minoru, doctor, writer, and Director Emeritus of Suwa Chuo Hospital. A graduate of the Tokyo Medical and Dental University School of Medicine, he became the Director of Suwa Chuo Hospital in 1988 and later became Director Emeritus in 2005. He is the chairman of the Japan Chernobyl Solidarity Fund and the representative of the Japan-Iraq Medical Net. He received the Yomiuri International Cooperation Award in 2006 and the Japan Broadcasting Corporation's Broadcasting Culture Award in 2011. He is the author of numerous books.
