Riu Kushiki is an author of horror, crime, and thriller novels. She debuted in 2012 with the novel Haunted Campus which was awarded the Japan Horror Novel Award. With over twenty entries, the series has been adapted into a feature film. Other notable works include Red and White (awarded the Shosetsu Subaru Literary Prize for Newcomers), The Uzukawamura Incident (adapted into a TV drama), and Lesson in Murder (adapted into a feature film and sold over 210,000 copies.)
