Ryunosuke Koike (b.1978-) was born in Yamaguchi Prefecture. Former Buddhist monk of the Jodo Shinshu school and chief priest of the Tsukuyomiji temple in Tokyo, he is internationally renowned for his accessible, yet comprehensive books on Zen and Buddhism. His books have sold over a million copies in Japan alone and have been translated in many languages. His latest book Atama no kimari no kowashikata (How to Break the Rules of Your Mind) was published by Shogakukan in 2017.
