Saki MURAYAMA was born in Nagasaki in 1963. She won the Mainichi Children’s Literature Award and the Mukahato Jido Bungaku Prize for her debut work, launching a career spanning over three decades. Murayama is known in Japan for her “healing narratives”—stories that blend everyday life with gentle touches of the inexplicable.
