Fourteen-year-old Orio works in the archive room of the "Strange Planet" Museum. Alongside his mentor, Mr. Belda, he spends his days diligently recording and preserving everything in the world. Then, one day, Belda dies. Suicide? Illness? Foul play? With the cause left unknown, Orio is thrust into taking over as head of the archive.

And yet— There is no stock left of "The Sixth Blue," the fountain pen ink Belda used for his records. Without it, the work of archiving cannot continue. Thus begins Orio's quest in search of a phantom ink.
