Ten years ago... Kurihara, a young man, was spending his days in frustration as his job hunt was not going well.　In the midst of this, he finds himself facing a second interview at a certain architectural firm. The question given to him as homework was: "Why did you decide to study architecture?" Kurihara was at a loss. His interest in architecture was influenced by his late mother. However, he suffered from mysterious seizures where he "becomes unable to breathe when speaking about his mother." Without an answer, there would be no job offer. Standing at a crossroads in his life, Kurihara agonizes.

At that time, he learns of a strange fact. The year before he was born, his grandmother, Chikako, reportedly met a mysterious death while clutching a single old map. Until the very end, his mother continued to pursue the reason for Chikako's death and the mystery of the old map. However, she passed away, leaving behind an unfinished investigation record. "If I can clear my mother's regrets, perhaps something will change." To find the truth, Kurihara sets out on a journey to a far-off land. Waiting for him there was an abandoned seaside village, an inexplicable fatal accident, a tunnel filled with dark history, and a sad truth hidden within the old map.
