Cats can deliver "feelings" no matter how far they must travel. This time, the stage is set for an unexpected closed-circle mystery!

This is the sequel to "伝言猫がカフェにいます" (The Messenger Cat in a Café). While the previous work depicted Fuuta the cat struggling to deliver messages from the deceased, the author reveals: "This time, I think I was able to betray readers' expectations in a good way. Maybe I went a bit overboard."

Fuuta works as a "message cat," employed by Nijiko, the proprietor of Café Pont—a café that exists between this world and the next. His job is to deliver messages from those who have passed away to the living. The story unfolds at a winter mountain lodge on Christmas Eve, where six guests find themselves trapped by heavy snowfall. Each guest appears to harbor secrets, creating an unsettling atmosphere.

Being a mystery enthusiast, Fuuta becomes excited about the prospect of a closed-circle mystery and takes on the role of detective, attempting to uncover the "mysteries" surrounding each guest. But his detective enthusiasm quickly gives way to his feline nature—he curls up contentedly in the cozy lodge atmosphere, takes delightful naps, and playfully tumbles about in the fluffy snow. These charming cat behaviors are utterly endearing throughout the story.

However, despite Fuuta's expectations and the ominous setup, no dramatic incident occurs. Instead, the story focuses on delivering heartfelt messages that address the lingering regrets of various characters—messages that gently touch the soul. This represents what the author calls the "mystery version" of the message cat series.

When the sequel was confirmed, the author felt that "it couldn't be the same as before—I thought I had to completely change the world or I wouldn't be able to write it." The fusion with mystery elements was the solution, maintaining the author's signature heartfelt worldview while creating a story that mystery novel fans can also enjoy.

The book features the same adorable cover art as its predecessor, complete with a blue pouch. Fans will also enjoy subtle connections to other works in the series, providing delightful moments of recognition.

This heartful story portrays human warmth and kindness through the unique perspective of a cat, cleverly subverting mystery genre expectations to deliver something far more meaningful—proving that sometimes the most profound mysteries are found not in dramatic crimes, but in the quiet complexities of human emotions and unfinished business.
