Sometimes the memories that a person holds are far more important than the things they possess. It was a reminder to him once again that sometimes the footprints of our lives are what make our lives worth living.

In a winter night, Kojiro’s only son drowned in lake. The police found a poem like the last letter, but Kojiro believed that his son will never commit suicide. He resigned and open Memories Detective Agency to help people to find their precious memories. In this agency, there are a cool single mother, a freelance actor, a young girl who was the victim of a murder case.

A woman was suffering of her cat’s death, an old lady was longing for seeing the man who saved her life before she dies, the man with wheelchair who wanted to his friend’s first love, a man wanted to find the girl who could fold a beautiful paper crane…

Kojiro, 45 years old, the founder of Memories Detective Agency. Up until five years ago, when he was a detective with the Kyoto Prefectural Police. After his own son, the high school boy drowned in Lake Biwa, decided to investigate alone and submit his resignation.
Michiyo, Kojiro’s wife that had become addicted to alcohol after the death of their only son.
Yumi Ichinose, an office clerk and private investigator. She was a divorced 34-year-old mother of a nine-year-old girl, and a 750cc motorbike rider.
Yutaka Hongo was a 32-year-old man, an aspiring period actor in a part-time job that Yutaka’s brother introduced to him.
Kanako Tachibana, was a petite woman of twenty-seven that she was “another” victim of a murder case that Kojiro himself was assigned to 10 years ago.

The First Case: The Man Who Writes Heart-felt Letters

Ms. Ochi was a divorced 47-year-old woman. She had a beloved cat who died by car accident. She kept the memories with her cat in the pendant. One day, she lost the pendant somewhere nearby the temple. Luckily, she found it in a café. Ochi wants to say thank you to the one who found the pendant but the only clue was his/her handwriting memo.

The Second Case: A Woman Who Folds Paper Cranes

Mr. Tamura, a founder of construction company. In 1965, he came to Tokyo to work in the factory in the day time and wanted to finish his high school education at the same time. When he wanted to give up, he met a young lady in a jazz bar who encouraged him not to give up. The only thing she left on the table was a fold paper crane.

The Third Case: A Man Who Lies

A young man with a wheelchair. He said that he wanted to find his good friend’s first love. When he left, he asked Kanako to help him and then kidnapped her. He was the stalker 10 years ago who murdered Kanako’s parents.

The Fourth Case: A Girl Called Camellia's Dream

Ms. Shimazaki, 75 year-old-woman. She is quite ill. She wanted to find a guy who saved her life 62 years ago. It was the time after WWII. The only clue is an amulet.
