Kanako NISHI (西 加奈子, b.1977-) is a Japanese writer and artist. She lived in Iran and Egypt when she was 2 year-old and moved back to Japan after her 12. She has won the Oda Sakunosuke Prize, the Kawai Hayao Literary Prize, Naoki Prize, Japan Bookseller Award second prize, Vogue Japan Woman of the Year 2015 and Granta Best of Young Japanese Novelists 2016. Several of her books have been adapted for film. "Sakura" will be translated into English, Spanish, Italian.
